Lietty Mejias is an associate attorney at the Fort Lauderdale office of Landau & Associates. Ms. Mejias began her legal career when she graduated from University of Havana School of Law in 2009. Right after graduation, Ms. Mejias was appointed judge and she assumed office in September 2009 where she remained through November 2012. Thereafter, Ms. Mejias served as legal counsel for The Cuban Agency for Music Copyright Agency (ACDAM). As legal counsel Ms. Mejias drafted contracts with users of musical and dramatic-musical works, negotiated settlement agreements and filed lawsuits usually claiming unauthorized use of musical works.
Early in 2016 Ms. Mejias moved to the U.S and since law has been her passion since she was 7 years old, she decided to go to Law School again. Ms. Mejias graduated from University of Miami School of Law in 2019 with a J.D degree and an L.L.M degree in International Law. During her time in law school Ms. Mejias interned for Honorable Maria E. Dennis in the Family Division of the Florida 11th Circuit Court and participated for half a year in the Miami Law’s Health Rights Clinic where her commitment with cases and clients was such that she was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award.
When she is not working, Ms. Mejias loves dancing and spending quality time with her family and friends.
