Krissia E. Mendez, ASSOCIATE
Krissia E. Mendez is an associate at the Orlando office of Landau & Associates, P.A. Prior to joining Landau & Associates, Ms. Mendez was an Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Osceola County, Florida. In her role as an Assistant State Attorney she litigated criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to attempted first degree murder. In her five years as a prosecutor she gained vast experience in trial litigation, frequently obtaining favorable verdicts for the people of the State of Florida.
As a prosecutor, her passion was prosecuting special victims’ crimes, including felony-level domestic violence and elder abuse crimes. In her last year as a prosecutor, she represented the State of Florida as a member of the Osceola County Elder Abuse Task Force, which comprised multiple law enforcement and victim services offices. Ms. Mendez, along with other representatives from these agencies, taught seminars to local law enforcement and State agencies on how to more appropriately identify and respond to elder abuse calls.
Ms. Mendez received her Juris Doctor degree from Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando, FL. Ms. Mendez was very active in her community while in law school. In her third year of law school, she was the President of the Hispanic American Law Student Association and was recognized with a Book Award for her academic achievements by the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida.
As an attorney, she remains active in her community as a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Osceola County Bar Association and volunteering her time and donating funds to Harbor House of Central Florida.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Mendez received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Central Florida and is a proud Knight.
